Florence's top winds were clocked on Thursday evening at 90 miles per hour (150 km/h) as it churned in the Atlantic Ocean, down from a peak of 140 miles per hour (224 km/h) earlier this week when it was classified a Category 4 storm. To prevent the cancellation of the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion by Kinder Morgan, Ottawa bought the Trans Mountain pipeline and the expansion project from the company in May. The Canadian government has recently moved to nationalize the expansion of the controversial pipeline. The male " wholphin ", which is believed to be close to adult age, was spotted swimming with dolphins near the island of Kauai a year ago, according to Dr Robin Baird, the marine biologist who headed the expedition. But an animal hybrid doesn't necessarily mean a new species - not even established hybrids, such as the mule. This confirmed the animal's parentage - and the finding is really unusual, not just because it's the first known rough-toothed dolphin/melon-headed whale hybrid. (more...)

Researchers in the USA stumbled upon the new moons while hunting for a mysterious ninth planet that is postulated to lurk far beyond the orbit of Neptune, the most distant planet in the solar system.
