Real Madrid have completed the signing of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic on a six-year contract until 2025, subject to passing a medical.

In the Bundesliga, Jovic was on target with 17 goals, third in the league rankings along with Kai Havertz of Leverkusen and Marco Reus of Dortmund.

The two clubs have agreed not to reveal the transfer fee for Jovic, with reports suggesting it is in the region of €60 million (R977 million) plus another €10 million (R163 million) in add-ons.

Jovic has signed for Real Madrid in a £62million deal. "His explosiveness and goal threat are now known around Europe".

'But for us it was clear that there is a financial threshold. For Eintracht Frankfurt this is a good and important transfer.

The striker joined Frankfurt on loan from Benfica in the summer and last month, the Bundesliga club exercised their option to make the move permanent.

"On a sporting level he is a big loss for us", said Frankfurt sports director Fredi Bobic.

Where will Jovic fit in at Real Madrid?

After their failure to win any title last season in all competitions, Real Madrid are planning to bolster their squad for next season.

He said the deal was good for the German club, who originally signed Jovic on a two-year loan from Portuguese club Benfica and took up an option for a permanent move in April after Barcelona showed interest in the Serb who has also scored his first global goal this season.

While the unveiling, presuming Jovic passes his medial, of one of Europe's hottest prospects will no doubt please the Bernabeu faithful, Madrid supporters are still eagerly anticipating the expected signing of Belgian forward Eden Hazard from Chelsea.
