Golfer at Masters accidentally hits the ball during practice swing

Shirley Friday at the Masters features its own stand-up comedy acts

It was a lucky escape for the former Masters champion, as the rules take into account intention to make a legitimate stroke.

Johnson accidentally struck the ball on the 13th tee while going through his pre-shot routine during the second round of the Masters.

The ball banged off a tee marker and rolled a few feet away. So Johnson re-teed and found the fairway.

For those of you who aren't necessarily golf fans, that wasn't supposed to happen. On one of his practice swings Friday, he accidentally knocked his ball off the tee. "That's a first. I thought I had done it all but now I know I've done it all".

Fortunately for Johnson, who won the 2007 edition of the tournament, he did not incur a penalty as it was a clear accident.

However, her good week in Mexico came to an end when a leg injury made it impossible for her to continue after 66 minutes of play. To put it all together is always more tricky, so I'm glad that I'm able to put little pieces together in the important moments.

Only Johnson's pride was hurt because he was allowed to re-tee the ball without penalty because he had not meant to move it. "I actually hit a really good tee shot after that, so I think I recovered nicely".

There isn't a Saturday or Sunday golfer in Ireland that hasn't done what Zach Johnson has just managed at The Masters this afternoon.

"Y'all can laugh, that's embarrassing", Johnson told his playing competitors, Ian Poulter and Matt Kuchar.

Johnson would go on to birdie the hole, one of three birdies against four bogeys in a one-over par 73 that left Johnson with a 36-hole total of three-over par 147.
