Assange to be ejected from Ecuadorean embassy - Security - Strategy

Julian Assange Is Set To Be Booted From The Ecuadorian Embassy Within Days

Julian Assange at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.

Wikileaks tweeted today that Mr Assange will be expelled within "hours to days" and that it already has an agreement with the United Kingdom for his arrest.

"It will be a sad day for democracy if the United Kingdom and Ecuadorean governments are willing to act as accomplices to the Trump administration's determination to prosecute a publisher for publishing truthful information", Assange's legal team said in a statement quoted by the British Press Association.

Moreno accused WikiLeaks of intercepting phone calls and private conversations as well as "photos of my bedroom, what I eat, and how my wife and daughters and friends dance".

Then in October, Assange filed suit against Ecuador after they decided to make him, among other things, clean his own bedroom and bathroom and pick up his cat's shits.

Meanwhile, UK Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt said Mr Assange is a "free man" and can leave the embassy if he wants to.

WikiLeaks, meanwhile, blamed Ecuador's souring relationship with Assange on their reporting of the so-called "Ina Papers".

The INA Papers are a set of documents which have implicated Ecuadorean President Lenin Moreno in alleged criminal activity, including corruption and money laundering.

Mr Moreno today renewed his attack, telling the Ecuadorian Radio Broadcasters' Association that Mr Assange has "repeatedly violated" his terms of asylum.

Assange has long-denied the Swedish sex crimes allegations, arguing that they were politically motivated.

Ecuador previous year established new rules for Assange's behavior while in the embassy, which required him to pay his medical bills and clean up after his pet cat.

Assange has been at the London embassy building since 2012, but if he leaves, he'll likely face arrest through a warrant that remains in effect through the city's police department.

Mr Assange a year ago lost his access to the internet, and a new set of rules was set, dictating that he avoid contentious political issues, clean his bathroom and look after his cat if he wanted the internet reconnected.

The Australian denies the rape claims, and said he feared Sweden would pass him on to U.S. authorities if he was extradited.

Mr Assange has been living inside the embassy for nearly seven years.

Ecuador's government contended the requirements were aimed at peaceful cohabitation in tight quarters in the small embassy, where Mr Assange takes up more than a third of the space.
