The classic Snake game has invaded Google Maps

Google Maps update brings Nokia's classic Snake game to everyone

Microsoft has actually banned their staff from releasing any April fools pranks this year. You can also play it here.

As part if its major city upgrade, you'll be able to play as a Sydney Train, travelling around the CBD and picking up passengers as you go. The option will show straight in Google Maps.

Snake, the game most famous for its appearance on ancient Nokia phones, is making a temporary comeback over the next day or two (depending on where you are in the world) with a version being added to Google Maps for an April 1 treat. Google Maps is nearly certainly always a part of the yearly festivities: After 2015's resurrection of Pac Man and last year's Where's Waldo, this time around we're invited to play good old Snake on our favorite mapping service.

The game's available to play for "roughly" a week (according to a Google spokesperson speaking to CNET), so make sure to play it soon if you want a chance to grab a high score. Once a user hits "play" they'll be presented the option to choose which city to play in.

Federer downs Anderson to reach Miami semi-finals
Halep only needs to qualify for Saturday's final to knock Japan's Naomi Osaka off the top women's rankings. However, Federer struggled in the following game to hold after he was trailing 0-40.

Remember Snake? It's back - in Google Maps form!

Google says Snake feature will be live in the Android and iOS app for about a week.

On a blog post announcing the new addition, Google said: "Play Snake to get your daily dose of 90s nostalgia (boy bands, fanny packs and slap bracelets not included)".
