Just Before Impact: Final Moments of Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 Jet REVEALED

Investigators have determined that an anti-stall system automatically activated before the Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 Max jet plunged into the ground

An investigation of the Lion Air flight suggested the anti-stall system malfunctioned, and forced the plane's nose down more than 20 times before it crashed into the sea.

"Earlier in March, a Boeing spokesperson said that the 737 Max was approved by the Federal Aviation Administration in accordance with standard procedures".

However, the source said the investigation is still underway and the findings are not yet definitive.

The detailed report says one pilot said to the other "Pitch up, pitch up!" before the radio went dead and as the plane "accelerated" towards the ground.

Boeing Co.: The 737 Max was designed in a hurry to counter a threat to Boeing's workhorse 737 from Airbus SE, whose planned A320neo was meant to cut into the 737's market share.

Boeing has tried to restore its battered reputation, while continuing to insist the 737 Max is safe.

The MCAS system is created to automatically point the nose of the jets down if it senses potential for a loss of lift, or aerodynamic stall.

"We are aware that the resumption of service for our 737 Max aircraft may be further delayed, and our team will work with all customers impacted by any flight cancellations", said American Airlines spokesman Ross Feinstein.

Today, a humiliated FAA's certification process is under investigation by a sister agency, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). We are rebooking guests on the next available flights to their destinations.

The family of 31-year-old Jackson Musoni, a Rwandan citizen who died in the Ethiopian Airlines accident, filed a lawsuit against Boeing on Thursday in a court in Chicago, where the company has its corporate headquarters. Still, Garuda is sticking with Boeing and has asked the manufacturer for different aircraft.

Last week, aircraft-maker Boeing said it had revised the plane's flight-control system and called the new software "more robust" than the initial version.

"There's no question that MCAS was the problem" and that pilots were not aware of the system, he told AFP.

All 157 people on board were killed.

Boeing and the FAA declined to comment to AFP. Prosecutors are concerned that Boeing did not properly teach airlines and pilots about the various features and functions of the 737 Max.
