Xiaomi fully charges a 4,000 mAh battery in just 17 minutes

Although the video is a demo of the technology Xiaomi has confirmed that it will soon go into mass production

Somehow Xiaomi has been able to manage the heat generated by pumping 100 watts of charge into a phone battery, which is essential if you want millions of consumers around the world using it in their homes.

As insane as that may sound, Xiaomi's fast charging technology can fully charge a 4,000mAh battery in 17 minutes only.

Uh-oh: Your iPhone's battery doesn't get a break with wireless charging Wireless charging is a nice feature, but testing suggests that it will wear out the battery faster than charging with a cable.

Both Huawei and Oppo have been pushing charging technology in 2018, as Huawei's Mate 20 Pro offered 40 watt speeds and the Oppo Find X Lamborghini Edition delivered a 50 watt charging rate. However, Weibing has taken to Weibo to announce that Super Charge Turbo is already in mass production by the Redmi team.

Super Charge Turbo is new charging propriety from Xiaomi, which utilizes 100W power to fast charge your smartphone.

XDA-Developers spotted a video of the charger posted to the Weibo account of Lu Weibing, General Manager of Xiaomi's Redmi sub-brand.

Most fast chargers take between an hour and two hours to fill a phone's battery, and SuperVOOC can do the job in just over 30 minutes. However, once ready, we expect it to debut on a future flagship device. The 100W Super Charge Turbo fast charging technology could fully charge a 4,000mAh phone in just 17 minutes.

No further details were shared at the moment about Xiaomi's impressive charging technology. So, it might be a possibility that the next Redmi phone may come packed with Xiaomi's 100W fast charging technology.
