You’re not alone: Facebook & Instagram are experiencing issues

Facebook and Instagram down

Facebook has said it is working to resolve issues disrupting image-sharing site Instagram and messaging application WhatsApp services.

About an hour after users started complaining about the outages, Facebook posted a short statement on Twitter that read, "We're aware that some people are now having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps".

"We're aware that some people are now having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps", a Facebook spokesperson said in an email. "We are investigating the issue and working on a resolution", Facebook wrote, adding that it is "investigating".

Facebook and Instagram were down for thousands of users Wednesday, according to reports on social media.

On Wednesday, Facebook Ads Manager, the lifeblood of advertising, was out of order, along with the rest of the platform.

"As with almost every Facebook outage, users headed to Twitter with the hashtag #facebookdown quickly becoming the top trending topic in the United States", according to USA Today.

Facebook platforms suffer outages in Americas and Europe

According to tracking website Down Detector, the problems hit Facebook users in Europe and the United States hardest.

A similar message appeared to users on Instagram when trying to log in, saying, "We couldn't connect to Instagram".

The issue also affected Facebook Workplace, the companies service for businesses to communicate internally. "We're working on getting this fixed as soon as we can do". It didn't help. I tried to delete then reinstall the app now I can't login bc it's not loading all my other apps work so I know it's not my WiFi.

(And some might ask what else Twitter is good for except complaining about the other three social networks).

This story is developing.
