Trey Flowers to sign with the Lions

Report: Amendola plans to sign with Lions

His four-year deal with Oakland is for $66 million, with $36.75 million guaranteed, ESPN reported.

The only knock on Flowers will be that his price tag won't quite match his statistical production (only 21.0 sacks in three years), but overpaying somewhat for such a clear fit to the defense should hardly bother anyone around Motown.

Flowers, coming off a 7.5-sack season, will be reunited with the former Patriots defensive coordinator, who is trying to recreate his own version of New England.

If that weren't enough, Flowers is a rare edge talent that is both impactful in his pass rush and against the run. (Belichick got two this year for the departures of cornerback Malcolm Butler and tackle Nate Solder.) The Patriots have questions at the defensive end position, but Belichick has always been creative enough to fill that absence.

Schefter added that it's a five-year deal for Flowers with the Lions.

Philadelphia Eagles: 3 Thoughts on the Malik Jackson signing
Jackson will receive a three-year contract worth $30 million, ESPN's Adam Schefter clarified, citing a source. He signed a big free-agent deal with the Jaguars entering the 2016 season and was very productive for.

An 11-year veteran, Amendola has had a nice career after starting as an undrafted free agent out of Texas Tech in 2008.

News of the move comes after Detroit signed ex-Patriots and Miami Dolphins wide receiver Danny Amendola to a one-year deal earlier on Monday.

The Detroit Lions have reportedly signed former Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Jesse James, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Given the Lions long list of Patriots ties, bringing in Amendola was a no-brainer for GM Bob Quinn. New England sent him to the Seahawks in 2017 for a seventh-round pick, and he recorded two decent seasons.

He started 15 games for the Dolphins in 2018, catching 59 passes for 575 yards and one touchdown. He had 40 receptions or more in seven NFL seasons, including 138 in his first two seasons in the league with the then-St. "I'm in the best condition of my life, I'm as fast as I've ever been and I'm as hungry as ever". He started 45 games for Detroit over the last three seasons, notching 18 passes defensed.
