Looking beyond Mueller, Democrats cast investigative nets

Donald Trump predicts he'll be re-elected in 2020 with increased majority

President Donald Trump attacked Robert Mueller's Russian Federation investigation in a speech to conservative supporters on Saturday, calling the probe "bullsh-" and claiming the special counsel was biased against him.

On Saturday in a speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference, Trump singled out the investigations being conducted by Mueller.

The area known for its dairy farms, meat production and small breweries will be heavily targeted by presidential campaigns after Trump's narrow win in Wisconsin in 2016 helped deliver him the White House. At one point, the president wrapped his arms around an American flag on the stage, mugging for the cameras as he held the hug for a moment.

One person the United States president didn't mention in his two-hour CPAC speech was his former personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, who testified before several congressional committees this week where he called Trump a "con man" and "racist".

- Materials that might show whether Trump's lawyers had a hand in rewriting former lawyer Michael Cohen's testimony to Congress falsifying the timeline of those negotiations.

Trump also went after Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, essentially accusing him of being a drag on the economy. When the wind stops blowing, that's the end of your electric.

The President reacted to his worsening plight with a vehement defense on Sunday, after a week in which testimony from his ex-lawyer Michael Cohen deepened his political vulnerability and ahead of the expected filing soon of special counsel Robert Mueller's report.

But Cohen threw cold water on the conspiracy theories that Trump colluded with Russian Federation to influence the 2016 election.

Included in the sampling are 29 percent who said the investigations are not at all likely to produce enough evidence to lead to impeachment and 24 percent who said the investigations are very likely to produce enough evidence to lead to impeachment.

NYT catches Trump in apparent lie about Jared Kushner's security clearance
The White House refused three times to confirm or deny the documents' existence, Oversight Democrats said. He was then granted a full, top-secret clearance in May.

The last big investigation involving a US president - the Ken Starr probe into the Whitewater scandal and former President Bill Clinton's relationship with Monica Lewinsky - differed in that it was carried out by an independent counsel, which unlike a special counsel is not part of the Justice Department.

Trump has repeatedly denied accusations that he colluded with Russian Federation in his election campaign.

"What we've done together has never been done in the history, may be of beyond our country".

The biggest applause line came when he promised America "will never be a socialist country", echoing a speech he gave to the Venezualan American community in Miami, Florida, on February 18. They don't put it this way, but this is what they're really saying.

"I think there's more than we know about at this time", said Waters, Politico reported.

He said Democrats are showing "policy is secondary, getting Trump is primary".

He also said that Comey was sacked because he was "a bad, bad guy", CNN said.

It was his first public appearance since coming home empty-handed, and to brickbats from all sides, from a nuclear-disarmament summit with North Korea's reclusive leader Kim Jong Un. He told CPAC the meeting was "very productive" - but that he would not "make a deal just for the sake of doing it".

The committee is seeking details about "Trump Tower Moscow (also known as the "Moscow Project") or any other proposed or possible real estate development in the Russian Federation by Donald Trump or the Trump Organization from January 1, 2015 to the present". "We will also have to look at the whole body of improper and criminal actions by the president including those campaign finance crimes to determine whether they rise to the level of removal from office", Mr Schiff said.
