Pep Guardiola: Man City manager praises his 'outstanding' players

Jurgen Klopp's side have been held to back-to-back draws against Leicester and West Ham

Manchester City look set to go back to the top of the English Premier League after scoring four goals in the first half against Chelsea today.

City face Chelsea again on February 24 in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley, and Guardiola believes the result on Sunday has made the task in two weeks' time harder for his side.

It was Chelsea's heaviest defeat since losing 7-0 to Nottingham Forest in 1991.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola praised his "outstanding" players after the Premier League champions recorded a third league victory in eight days.

"Incredible week, incredible game", Guardiola told the BBC.

City face a crunch period, with the Champions League restarting on February 20 against Schalke, the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea as well as their Premier League battle with Liverpool and Tottenham.

Aguero had a simple task to make it 3-0 six minutes later when he pounced on Ross Barkley's slack header towards his own goal.

Elizabeth Warren Makes 2020 Presidential Run Official
Even CNN admits that Warren's path to the White House has become a lot harder since the DNA fiasco blew up last October. Kirsten Gillibrand has also announced an exploratory committee .

But Maurizio Sarri's men had levelled that mark midway through the first-half when Ilkay Gundogan's shot from the edge of the box had too much power for Kepa Arrizabalaga.

There aren't many better strikers in the world than Sergio Aguero. "The important thing is to get the ball and for the team to win".

Aguero is now the joint top scorer in the Premier League with Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and quickly brushed off the miss.

Aguero equalled Alan Shearer's record of 11 Premier League hat-tricks with a penalty before Sterling's late strike.

Even after Aguero went off to a standing ovation, City's strength in depth shone through as Gabriel Jesus, Riyad Mahrez and David Silva came off the bench.

And at that stage the floodgates were blown open as Chelsea completely capitulated.
