Gueye pleads with Everton to sell him to PSG

Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye has reportedly travelled to Paris in the hope he will be able to join Paris Saint-Germain on deadline day.

The Mirror says the Senegal worldwide was the subject of a £21.5m bid from Paris Saint-Germain which was rejected by the Toffees.

Despite Everton's stance, they are confident that their next bid will be enough to secure Gueye's services.

The French giants have made several offers for Gueye this month, and have been rebuffed by Everton each time, but seeing Gueye missing from the Everton starting eleven set tongues wagging.

"When a club like PSG comes in it is normal he starts to think about his future but now he has stopped, the market is closed and I don't have doubts we will see the best Idrissa Gana again".

Neville and Scholes react to Martial's new contract at Manchester United
Speaking to the club's website about the deal, Solskjaer was effusive in his praise for the forward. He's had some ups and downs at the club - he's been top scorer, he's been developing.

It is no secret the club are looking for reinforcements, with Zenit's Leandro Paredes also mooted as a target, but Gueye - for whom PSG are said to have offered £22million - will be staying put if Everton can help it.

Since joining Everton he has been one of the Premier League's most consistent midfield performers, and has season been responsible for more than 20 percent of the team's tackles, with 83. They never told me to prepare to replace him. I know how he is a good professional, how he is a fantastic boy, he likes our club, he enjoys playing for our club.

Gueye left Aston Villa for Merseyside in 2016 following the Birmingham-based club's relegation to the Championship.

"I'm happy with the squad, I'm happy with the players we have to work with", he said.

"We know they are strong in the counter-attack with a solid block and fast players".
