Neville and Scholes react to Martial's new contract at Manchester United
Under Mourinho it looked like Martial would leave Old Trafford, especially with his contract expiring at the end of next season, but on Thursday the 23 year old signed a new five year deal.
"I would like to thank (interim boss) Ole (Gunnar Solskjaer) and his coaching staff for their belief in me and for helping me to take my game to the next level".
Solskjaer has reinvigorated the France forward's United career since replacing José Mourinho as manager in December.
"He knows that I'd like him to do a couple more runs in behind, but I've not seen many players with the quick feet and the skills in the last third as he has so we're going to build his career and hopefully he'll grab the chance with both hands".
"You need a run of games to express yourself and now he's getting that, he can beat a man, score goals, bring excitement for the fans and that's the most important thing".
After embarking on a nine-match unbeaten streak under the Norwegian, Martial has made a decision to pledge his long-term future to the club, in a major boost for the team ahead of a crucial period of fixtures.
Previously linked with moves to PSG and Juventus, Martial went from being nearly out of the club in pre-season, to become one of the club's top scorers and more productive players.

United surrendered their 100% start to life under the interim management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Wednesday, although two late goals rescued an unlikely point which kept alive hopes of a top four finish.
Speaking to the club's website about the deal, Solskjaer was effusive in his praise for the forward.
Of the new contract, Solskjær said: "It's a confirmation that we are happy with him, we believe in him".
"Of course, as a young lad moving overseas it's not easy, but now he knows he's going to stay here for the coming future and I believe in him, I certainly believe in him".
