CNN reports that Chris Brown was arrested in Paris, France, and stands accused of "aggravated rape and drug violations".

Police are still investigating the case, the Paris prosecutor's office said.

In May previous year, a woman filed a lawsuit against Brown over claims that one of his friends repeatedly raped her at a drunken and drug-fuelled party at the singer´s Los Angeles home in 2017.

According to the French magazine Closer, the woman claims that she met Brown at Le Crystal, a nightclub close to the Champs-Élysées.

The AFP reports Brown was released without charge on Tuesday, though the investigation into the incident continues.
