6 people injured at BWI Airport from partial jet bridge collapse

В американском аэропорту рухнул трап с пассажирами

A passenger jet bridge at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport in Maryland collapsed, injuring seven people.

Six were taken to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, according to BWI spokesman Jonathan Dean.

An airbridge is the enclosed, movable passageway between the terminal and an aircraft, permitting passengers to board and deplane.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.

Southwest Airlines said the flight arrived at BWI from Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, with a request for paramedics to meet it to check out a passenger's "onboard medical situation". He says his mom packed his bag.

Warriors won't match Cavs' offer sheet for Patrick McCaw
McCaw appears more than ready to move on from the Warriors, and had been negotiating with other teams as the season progressed. The Cavaliers or Warriors could waive McCaw before January 7 and not be responsible for paying the remainder of his contract.

While medics were helping the passenger outside the plane, the jet bridge experienced a failure, Southwest Airlines said. Southwest says the remaining passengers were able to safely exit the plane using air stairs.

The airport added that an investigation had been launched into the incident and that the jet bridge would be closed until the end of the probe.

Anne Arundel County Fire said they were supporting BWI Fire with the incident.
