Warriors won't match Cavs' offer sheet for Patrick McCaw

Patrick McCaw set to move on from Warriors and sign offer sheet with Cavaliers, per report

McCaw appears more than ready to move on from the Warriors, and had been negotiating with other teams as the season progressed.

Patrick McCaw of the Golden State Warriors has finally ended his holdout with the team and made a decision to sign a deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski says the contract is non-guaranteed.

The Warriors, who are well over the salary cap, would be hit with an additional $11.3 million in luxury tax should they retain McCaw, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks.

Instagram briefly switched to horizontal feed and people just didn’t like it
Unfortunately thousands users were not happy with the drastic change and immediately began voicing their disapproval on Twitter . The furor was swift and after only about an hour, the update was removed and Instagram was back to normal.

The Cavaliers or Warriors could waive McCaw before January 7 and not be responsible for paying the remainder of his contract. He was acquired by Golden State in exchange for cash considerations in a draft-day deal.

McCaw averaged 4.0 points per game in 128 regular-season appearances with the Warriors over the past two seasons. If McCaw is cut before January 7, the club won't be on the hook for his pro-rated $3-million salary, allowing the 23-year-old to become an unrestricted free agent. He shot 42.1 percent from the field and 29.6 percent from three. Sports reported nine days ago the Warriors are committed to matching any offer sheet for McCaw.
