Trump golf club employs undocumented workers

'We are tired of the abuse': Undocumented immigrant reveals that she and others have worked for Trump for years

A new report claims illegal immigrants have been working for US President Donald Trump's luxury golf club in New Jersey.

Morales, who is now employed at Bedminster, pays taxes just like legal immigrants and American citizens, says she and other undocumented employees at Bedminster are coming forward out of frustration with Trump's attacks on immigrants. He says that she believes that Trump's comments may have emboldened a supervisor at the resort to verbally abusing workers, calling them "stupid illegal immigrants".

She said Trump would sometimes give her a $50 or $100 tip.

The revelation comes despite Trump's hardline stance on immigration - which has led to accusations of him villifying illegal immigrants, with the president's tough talk forming a key part of his 2016 presidential campaign.

Another woman, Sandra Diaz, who's from Costa Rica and is now a legal resident of the USA, said she was also undocumented when she worked at Bedminster between 2010 and 2013, the Times reported. Morales said that she understood she could be fired or deported as a result of coming forward, though she has applied for protection under the asylum laws.

Both women were described by the Times as finding Trump demanding, but kind.

Lemon noted the Trump Organization responded to the allegations with a statement highlighting its "very strict hiring practices" and vow to fire any employee who submitted false documentation.

Trump has railed against undocumented workers and called for companies to screen employees more carefully.

"Any person who runs for any elected office should immediately sign up for E-Verify for any employee situation they have, whether they're running their own businesses, whether they're hiring labor at home, whatever it is, just as a matter of pure common sense", said Rosemary Jenks, government relations manager for NumbersUSA, which has long called for E-Verify to be made mandatory for all businesses. She is also exploring a lawsuit claiming workplace abuse and discrimination.

The White House declined to comment. She said he complimented Guatemalans as "hard-working people", tipped her $US50, and helped her wipe a glass window she was too short to reach. If he arrives suddenly, everyone runs around like insane.' she said.

She said she is certain that her employers - perhaps even Trump - knew of her unlawful status all along.

"I ask myself, is it possible that this señor thinks we have papers?" "Why wouldn't he figure it out?"
