First Lady Melania Trump with the red Christmas trees at the White House

It's not the first time Stephen King's horror hotel movie has been mentioned in connection with the first lady's holiday tastes.

She didn't lash out at her critics, nor did she back down from her decision.

Bolling applauded the first lady for the "empathy and compassion" she has toward the issue of the opioid crisis.

But the event was aimed mostly at discussing the United States opioid epidemic and she said she had taught her son "what is right, what is wrong".

Ukraine says two navy vessels hit by Russian fire
In a speech on Tuesday, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said Moscow must respect worldwide law and territorial sovereignty. A video posted to Twitter shows a Russian boat purposely ramming a Ukrainian tugboat on Sunday near the Kerch Strait.

Trump and "Fox & Friends" co-host Ainsley Earhardt toured some of the most iconic locations in the presidential residence, and the first lady offered personal thoughts on what the display means to her.

"And you are all very welcome to visit the White House, the "people's house".

When it comes to Christmas at the Trump White House, the omens for vulgarity were good.

"I teach him what is right, what is wrong, and I will always tell him that drugs, they could be very risky and they could mess up your mind and body", Trump said. She said Barron doesn't engage in social media because he's "all into sports".

During last year's ceremony, Trump noted how the birth of Jesus Christ "forever changed the course of human history", adding, "There is hardly an aspect of our lives today that his life has not touched: art, music, culture, law, and our respect for the sacred dignity of every person everywhere in the world".

During her speech, Mrs. Trump called the opioid epidemic the worst drug crisis in American history. "About a pound of fentanyl can cause 150,000 deaths".
