Trump to deliver remarks on immigration, as he fumes over border security

Mexico's ambassador to US claims there are very violent migrants in caravan

Previous estimates of possible troops to be deployed to the border were 800, making the recent news a steep increase. I told them to consider it a rifle.

Defense Secretary James Mattis pushed back against that assertion by critics Wednesday, telling reporters, "We don't do stunts". "And sometimes enabling missions - especially if that's all you're going to do - require a significant footprint", he said, pointing out that U.S. troops deployed to the border will serve as "enablers" rather than "trigger-pullers".

President Donald Trump further hardened his pre-election anti-immigration rhetoric in a Florida campaign stop on Wednesday, after threatening to deploy as many as 15 000 soldiers on the Mexican border - equal to the size of the United States contingent in Afghanistan. We have about 5,000, eight [thousand], we'll go up to anywhere between ten and 15,000 military personnel on top of Border Patrol, ICE, and everybody else at the border, ' Trump said. The number conceivably could reach 10,000, counting the 2,100 National Guard soldiers who have been operating along the border for months as part of a separate but related mission.

TRUMP: "At this very moment, large well-organized caravans of migrants are marching towards our southern border". Earlier in the week, the administration said it would send thousands of troops to the border; on Thursday, Trump said these troops could treat migrants who throw rocks as if they were using firearms. We have ten and we might even go up to 15,000 soldiers on our border.

USA Today reported the troops can transport border agents to locations as needed, build temporary structures, set up wire barriers, and provide medical services for military personnel and migrants.

Trump claimed members of the caravans "Fought back hard and viciously against Mexico at Northern Border before breaking through". But Trump said the government would erect "massive tents". "They have helped stop a lot of the transportation means of these individuals in these caravans, forcing them walking".

Police intercept another suspicious package sent to CNN
Sayoc, shackled at the wrists and ankles and wearing a tan jail jumpsuit, said little at the hearing but at one point tearing up. CNN President Jeff Zucker says another suspicious package addressed to CNN was intercepted Monday at an Atlanta post office.

This smaller group is similar to the first migrant caravan, which infuriated US President Donald Trump and fuelled his anti-immigration message ahead of the midterm elections.

Soldiers from the 541st Sapper Company headed to the southern USA border prepare to board an air transport plane on Tuesday in Ft.

Independent estimates put the number of people in the USA illegally at less than half that amount.

"This is an invasion", Trump declared as he has previously on a subject that has been shown to resonate strongly with his base of Republican supporters.

He did not specify who those third parties were, but said "I have talked about there being people tied to criminal activities who have infiltrated the caravan. we have detained some". The suspect in that case, Robert Bowers, reportedly posted anti-Semitic and anti-immigrant comments on social media, claiming Jews were helping a migrant caravan that he likened to "invaders".

The first caravan, whose numbers have dwindled to less than 4,000, was in the southern city of Juchitan on Wednesday, about 1,400 kilometers from McAllen, Texas.
