Megyn Kelly Today Cancelled After Blackface Comments

Home Corporate Megyn Kelly About To Lose Everything Over Her Blackface Comments By Farron Cousins

Megyn Kelly's NBC News show is reportedly in jeopardy of being cancelled amid growing backlash over her defense of the use of blackface. Yet another person claiming it's racist to have a white Santa, ' " Kelly, then a Fox News personality, said at the time. But according to the Daily Mail, the morning show host "is done" with the organization. The program was already suffering from low ratings and controversial moves like an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but now it seems that Kelly's blackface comments were the final straw for NBC. Al Roker and Craig Melvin strongly criticized Kelly's comments during the 7 a.m. hour of "Today" on Wednesday. The source went on to explain that Kelly still stands to walk away with money. "It's disgusting and heads should roll here because of it", the source said. Another host is reportedly to be determined.

From the beginning, Megyn Kelly's stint on NBC has been a mixed bag, because despite having trash opinions for a very long time, she was a TV news and politics journalist sentenced to the world of daytime television where everything is politics-lite with some softball stories.

But Kelly did not appear on Thursday morning; instead NBC aired a taped version of "Megyn Kelly Today". When NBC brought her over they paid her an enormously high salary, built her a $10m studio and let her bring all her own staff.

Kelly has parted ways with her talent agency, CAA, sources told CNN, and she has hired attorney Bryan Freedman.

Kelly apologized in an email to her NBC colleagues hours after making those remarks.

2 men in vehicle when Georgia officer shot
Police say Pretlow drove the vehicle from the scene, crashed a short distance away and fled along with other occupants. Smith said it is unclear whether anyone in the suspect's vehicle was hit or how many shots were fired.

And Kelly has been openly challenging the news division's management, including NBC News chair Andy Lack, for months.

"There is no other way to put this, but I condemn those remarks..." The woman said she was getting one to two emails a week requesting autographed pictures or political analysis (when they weren't hate letters) and it picked up after Kelly moderated the first GOP primary debate in August of that year. Her Sunday evening newsmagazine show, Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly, immediately flopped as it could not even get more viewers than reruns of 60 Minutes and America's Funniest Home Videos.

"This is a disaster scenario for Megyn Kelly", said Matt Belloni, executive editor of the Hollywood Reporter. "I defended the idea, saying as long as it was respectful and part of the Halloween costume, it seemed OK. Well, I was wrong, and I am sorry". She was trying to ask whether it was still considered racist for a white person to dress up as a black person or character out of respect and homage and not out of mockery.

But when she insisted that she has "never been a PC kind of person", many felt that her apology was disingenuous and exposed her again as a phony. "The country feels so divided and I have no wish to add to that pain and offense", she declared.
