Sergio Garcia Leads as Valderrama Masters Extends to Monday

Garcia still has 11 holes of his final round to complete

Play has been suspended at the Andalucia Valderrama Masters due to weather, with Sergio Garcia now in the lead while Shane Lowry is still in the hunt.

The tournament victor a year ago and in 2011, Garcia had a 10-under 132 total at Valderrama Golf Club.

Lowry finished in the ascendancy with a birdie on the last to record a five under par final round of 66, giving him second place on his own and an overall score of eight under par, four behind victor Sergio Garcia. Lowry shot a 66 in the final round.

"It's incredible to be able to win here at Valderrama three times". For me to be able to shoot three rounds under par with the positions we played all week, all the rain we had, and all the stop and going means a lot.

Garcia opened with a 4-shot lead after a faultless 64 on Saturday and built on his advantage with a 20-foot putt for birdie at the fourth.

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex skips royal tour event to rest
The source reportedly said that the word normal "looms large for Harry and Meghan when it comes to their child's future". Harry said his wife was " resting back at home ", adding "being pregnant takes its toll".

Garcia's fellow Spaniards Alvaro Quiros and Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano sit in a tie for third with Scotland's Marc Warren on four-under.

Lowry joined Westwood on seven under with a birdie at the 10th before Garcia resumed his round, but Westwood soon started a disastrous back nine by dropping a shot at the first hole on his way in.

Lee Westwood (70) finished tied for fifth.

While Lowry ran up a double bogey at the 15th, Garcia added birdies at the 14th and 17th to give himself a cushion playing the last.

With the tournament already reduced to 54 holes after repeated weather delays, Garcia and the rest of the field had to get off the 1997 Ryder Cup venue because of the threat of lightning.
