Video site YouTube experiencing a worldwide outage

YouTube says they're now working to fix access issues, after users reported outages all over the world.

Earlier, Youtube was down and users across the world were left complaining that they could not access the video channel and this caused outrage among many.

"For about two hours, traffic to YouTube was routed according to erroneous Internet Protocols", a YouTube spokesperson had said. In addition, visiting YouTube.com produced a blank screen with only the YouTube logo displayed.

Youtube's message for users during the outage. Users who were trying to access the video streaming were met internal error 500 message for an hour. This was in a period of one hour, while the regular average was not more than 10 in an hour. It was a rare outage for Google-owned website.

Emilio Medina (@emiliomedina) thought about what YouTube celebrities would do for income when the platform goes offline. YouTube later apologized, saying there was a "miscommunication" and the issue has now been fully resolved.

The service was back up as of 11 a.m. HK/SIN time, although YouTube did not explain what caused the outage.
