Floyd Mayweather expects to make '$100 million more' to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov

Floyd Mayweather responds to call-out from Khabib Nurmagomedov as possible super-fight looms

Nurmagomedov has yet to receive his $2 million disclosed purse from the NSAC for his last outing due to his involvement in the melee which marred UFC 229 two weeks ago and he is eager to fight anywhere else.

Retired, undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather says a boxing match against undefeated UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is "happening", although he has not offered any further details. He's ready to go, so now he's leaving it up to Nurmagomedov's side to make good on his call out.

Mayweather, who has not fought since the McGregor bout, has said he will come out of retirement to fight Manny Pacquiao in a rematch later this year. He knocked out England's very own Ricky Hatton in devastating fashion but I don't see it.

What warrants a violent eyeroll, though, is another claim Mayweather made in the interview.

"When I face Khabib, of course, I'm getting a nine-figure payday".

We thought it couldn't get much bigger, money-wise, than Floyd Mayweather fighting Conor McGregor. $100 million more, guaranteed... "It could be somewhere upwards of $110m to $200m guaranteed".

And finally, here's what he had to say about Khabib saying he was able to do something that Floyd was not - knock Conor to the ground.

Family spurs Federer to victory, Latest Tennis News
Federer won the Australian Open at the start of this year but has had a mediocre season by his sky-high standards. Djokovic is targeting his 72nd career title here on Sunday.

The same will obviously be true for Nurmagomedov, who is a skilled grappler and possesses what might be the best ground game in the UFC.

And he's adamant the fight will be in the boxing ring. You are pretty busy with that, I hope it won't get stuck in your throat. Khabib is going to start wrestling in the boxing ring.

Any fight would be incredibly lucrative for both men.

In a direct response to the fact that the Russian cited his second-round knockdown of Conor as a one-up of sorts over him, Mayweather was quick to make it clear that it mattered little.

"He wants to continue hurting boxing by making fights that don't make sense. and not giving boxing the credibility it deserves", Canelo tells TMZ Sports.

If Mayweather wants a real return, Canelo is urging him to do the right thing - make the rematch. We have to fight now.
