Turkish media names alleged killers of Saudi journalist

Turkish sources believe Jamal Khashoggi was killed inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul

He cautioned that "we don't want to rush to judgment", but said that "the explanations I hear coming from Saudi Arabia make no sense".

"We can not let this happen to reporters, to anybody". To reporters, to anybody.

"We can not let this happen, to reporters, to anybody", Trump said. He had apparently drawn the wrath of the Saudi government, which has become an ever-closer US ally under President Donald Trump. Cengiz wrote in the Washington Post today that the couple planned to split their time between D.C. and Istanbul. "We're going to get to the bottom of it and there will be severe punishment".

Elshayyal said, "I have learned earlier that, among the evidence with the investigation is testimony from inside the consulate at the time that Jamal [Khashoggi] was there, which includes sounds of loud screams and shouting, as well as calls for help and the sound of a struggle and then sudden silence".

Khashoggi had left his phones with her before entering and told her to wait outside and alert the authorities if he did not return.

In an op-ed published in The Post on Tuesday, Khashoggi's fiancée implored Trump and the first lady to become involved in the search for answers.

'We're going to take a very serious look at it, it's a bad thing, ' Trump said.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said national security adviser John Bolton and presidential senior adviser Jared Kushner spoke on Tuesday (Wednesday NZT) to Crown Prince Mohammed about Mr Khashoggi. He had been living in the United States since a year ago, in self-imposed exile, partly because of the rise of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who has shown little tolerance for criticism. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo then had a follow-up call with the crown prince to reiterate the US request for information and a thorough, transparent investigation.

One of the men identified by name and photo in the Sabah report is a Saudi forensic expert, according to Saudi media reports, and is on the board of the Saudi Society of Forensic Medicine. We will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates as available.

At an Oval Office availability early today, Trump was asked if he thinks Khashoggi is dead.

Trump said he would meet with Khashoggi's family. "When I hear of the arrest of a friend who did nothing that (deserved being) arrested, it makes me feel I shouldn't go", he told the BBC.

These were the toughest comments coming out of the Trump administration since the mysterious disappearance of the journalist, who Turkish authorities suspect was abducted and murdered by the Saudis.

The individuals checked into two hotels close to the consulate, the daily said.

His fiancee said the journalist was invited to the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul to obtain documents needed for his upcoming marriage.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevut Cavusoglu said Saudi Arabia was not yet co-operating with the investigation despite a statement from Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz saying his nation wanted to uncover "the whole truth", the BBC said.
