'I know you're not thinking. You never do.'

Donald Trump Told a Female Reporter, 'You're Not Thinking, You Never Do'

This was Trump's second such run-in with a female reporter. When confronted with questions about the sexual assault investigation that his supreme court nominee Brett Kavanaugh is now undergoing, Trump's demeanor changed, and he became rather defensive. "She's shocked that I picked her".

After the president finished outlining the new USMCA deal, he agreed to take a few questions from the media - and he nodded at Vega. "I'm not. Thank you, Mr. President", Vega responded. 'I know you're not thinking - you never do'. "Don't do that. Do you have a question on trade?" he said. But Trump continued to taunt her.

When Trump felt his that his new trade agreement was adequately addressed, he was still testy when he returned to Collins for her question on the Federal Bureau of Investigation probe into Kavanaugh's background and scolded her when she tried to ask a followup question.

"What does that have to do with trade?"

In either case, the HuffPost reported on Tuesday morning that the White House had issued a correction on the official transcript, amending the word in question to correctly read "thinking".

When the White House distributed a transcript of the meeting to media contacts, the line was different, with an incongruous "thanking" substituted for "thinking".

Several reporters highlighted the discrepancy on Twitter, noting they've reached out for clarification but the White House has so far been mum.

Epic. And those weren't even the President's most outrageous moments. Can you imagine if I had?

He later circled back to Vega in a press conference that also found Trump deriding other female reporters. Similarly to Vega, Collins was reproached with the president wagging his finger at her saying her actions were "not nice". But the president also tried to strike a lighter note, joking about his own bad reputation in the press. It was the one-year anniversary of the Las Vegas massacre, which left 58 dead.

He said then-Fox News host Megyn Kelly had "blood coming out of her wherever". Still, she is a woman challenging him, so he feels it necessary to cut her off and wave her away.
