Third woman makes sexual misconduct allegations about Brett Kavanaugh

Swetnick, who is being represented by Michael Avenatti, said in the affidavit released Wednesday that she was a victim of a gang rape in 1982 by a group of boys. She alleges that the pair spiked party punch with drugs or grain alcohol to lower girls' inhibitions and says she witnessed boys including Kavanaugh and Judge lining up to gang-rape an inebriated girl.

"Well, I think the Senate, the Republicans could not be nicer in the way they are handling this", Trump said.

President Donald Trump declined to answer a question about the latest allegations against Kavanaugh as he departed the United Nations on Wednesday.

But on Fox News on Monday, Kavanaugh denied engaging in such behavior, describing himself as a virgin in high school and saying, "I've always treated women with dignity and respect".

Swetnick, a former U.S. Treasury Dept. employee, said that she has known Kavanaugh and his friend Mark Judge since the early '80s and says she attended "well over" 10 house parties where the two were present and witnessed them sexually assault them and "demean" and "humiliate them". None of them were present the night of the alleged assault and do not have first-hand knowledge of the incident, but they all say they were aware of it before Kavanaugh's nomination was announced and Ford's story became public. Ford has accused Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her when they were both teenagers in the 1980s. Asked about the decision to have a veteran Arizona prosecutor to handle the questioning, Trump said that Senate Republicans "could not be nicer" and "could not be more respectful".

US Flies Bombers Over Disputed South China Sea
In a further act of retaliation, China turned down a request for an October port call in Hong Kong by the U.S. Mattis said he did not think there was a fundamental shift in relations between China and the United States.

"I am innocent of this charge", Mr Kavanaugh says. The allegations directly contradict Kavanaugh's categorical denials.

Further adding to the drama, the Judiciary Committee released parts of Kavanaugh's 1982 calender in an effort to discredit the allegations. He's denied those allegations.

Kavanaugh and the other three named people: Mark Judge, Patrick Smyth, and Leland Keyser, have all given personal testimony. There should be an investigation into these allegations, made in a sworn affidavit, and other named witnesses, including Mark Judge, must be called to testify.

Kent Sinclair, Douglas Rutzen and Mark Osler, were among almost 25 of Kavanaugh's law school classmates who signed a letter August 27 to the Senate Judiciary Committee, praising Kavanaugh's former judiciary accomplishments in support of his confirmation to the nation's highest court.

In the hours before the hearing, Republicans were rocked by the new accusation from a third woman, Julie Swetnick.
