Japanese billionaire revealed as SpaceX's first Moon traveller

Elon Musk and Yusaku Maezawa the self-made tycoon said he had always dreamt of going to the moon. He plans to take eight artists along for the ride

Maezawa will fly on the Big Falcon Rocket, or BFR, a new spaceship system that SpaceX is building.

"It's risky to be clear", Musk said.

On its website, SpaceX is touting the "first passenger on lunar BFR mission", implying there will be more. "More flight-ready hardware reveals, and some test demonstrations would go a long way to proving their capabilities". "They say, who is this Maezawa person?" "So, I choose to go to the Moon with artists". The company's Space Dragon crew capsule, which is meant to take astronauts to the International Space Station, missed an initial target date of 2017 and won't see a manned test until 2019.

The BFR (which stands for "Big Falcon Rocket", or "Big F-- Rocket") is created to help humanity settle Mars and other worlds throughout the solar system, Musk has said.

Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa says he will invite six to eight artists, architects, designers and other creative people on a weeklong journey to circumnavigate the moon. He is best known elsewhere for paying a record $110 million previous year for a 1982 painting by the late Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Mr Maezawa's identity was revealed at an event on Monday evening at the company's headquarters and rocket factory in the Los Angeles suburb of Hawthorne.

Per the Verge, Musk also showed off another revision to the BFR, stating that the new design would have seven instead of six large Raptor engines, boast additional cargo room on the rocket's bottom, and have three instead of two rear fins as well as front actuator fins.

Musk said, "It makes a difference".

Tom Arnold, Mark Burnett Get Into Pre-Emmy Scuffle
Arnold reportedly pushed Burnett who pushed him back and that's when Arnold ripped Burnett's crucifix necklace off of his neck. Arnold claims that the bruise was already on her hand and that he didn't even see Downey until after the incident began .

Musk said the pair had paid a "significant" deposit and were "entering this with their eyes open, knowing that there is some risk here".

Maezawa refused to name the sum for the journey to the moon, but said that he has already made a prepayment. It consists of a massive rocket booster that promises to out-power any that has ever been built and a towering spacecraft, nicknamed BFS for Big Falcon Spaceship, that will vault out of the Earth's atmosphere. The BFR, as it is known, is in development, possibly years from flying.

"I would caution against making too much of an announcement about a circumlunar flight", former NASA chief historian Roger Launius told the Daily Beast. It aims to launch its first crewed mission to the space station in the second quarter of 2019.

But for now, the company has yet to fly a human into space.

SpaceX said it has signed the first private moon traveler, with some changes to its original game plan.

Markowsky said he's wanted to go into space since seeing SpaceCamp, a 1986 movie about a group of teens at a NASA camp who are accidentally sent into space.

Scott Kelly knows a thing or two about space travel. Bezos' Blue Origin has been tight-lipped about the price of its tickets, but Reuters reported in July that they could cost in the $200,000 range.
