Antonio Brown’s Agent Explains ‘Trade’ Tweet, Missed Steelers Practice

Tomlin confirms Steelers WR Brown was absent from facility on Monday

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been engulfed in yet another situation involving one of their star players with All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown being the latest after he chose to not show up to practice on Monday.

Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that Brown did not show up for team meetings and film review the morning after the Steelers lost to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Steelers face the 2-0 Buccaneers on Monday to close out Week 3.

The Steelers are a mess, and to their troubles - which include a tie against the Browns, a loss to the Chiefs, and a holdout by All-Pro running back Le'Veon Bell - they can now add wide receiver Antonio Brown.

"There've been a couple instances now where you've asked me about Antonio regarding social media-like things", Tomlin said.

As our John Breech noted on Monday, that was not Brown's only emotional display during the game.

But in the melee there was something cool that we checked out - the new Apple Watch 4 faces that are coming with the new device. The phone will also dispense with 3-D touch, which may or may not make much of a difference with most iPhone users.

The Brown drama reached a new level, though, when former team employee Ryan Scarpino tweeted that Brown was lucky to have Ben Roethlisberger as his quarterback and credited Roethlisberger for Brown's success in the league.

Things have gone from bad to worse for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

His "Trade me" tweet was his second social media flare-up in as many weeks.

But Antonio Brown may have finally crossed that line.

Surely, Brown's absence on Monday will not fuel even more speculation about divides within the team's locker room. "And non-football-related things, such as social media decorum and et cetera, so hopefully that'll be the last time I'll be discussing things such as that in this setting". "But I'll leave that between he and I", Tomlin said. I'll address that very directly with him. The receiver also seemed to let his emotions get the better of him late in the fourth quarter. There's opportunity for us to respond to it, particularly in the early portions of the year, to utilize negative experiences and things that occur, to educate our team at this point in the journey so it becomes a non-factor as we move forward, that's generally the approach that we take.
