Mueller will reportedly accept written responses from Trump on Russian collusion

Giuliani's estranged wife writing tell-all book report

The special counsel, Robert Mueller, will accept written answers from President Donald Trump on questions about whether his campaign conspired with Russia's election interference, Mueller's office told Trump's lawyers in a letter, two people briefed on it said Tuesday.

Giuliani, who like the president has repeatedly described the Russian Federation probe as a "witch hunt", told journalist Jeffrey Toobin that Trump's original legal team had struck a deal with Mueller about his expected final report that would allow the White House to "object to the public disclosure of information that might be covered by executive privilege".

Mueller's letter reportedly didn't ask for written responses about whether the president tried to obstruct justice, saying executive privilege could complicate the issue.

Rudy Giuliani says the White House would likely attempt to block a full public release of Robert Mueller's anticipated final report about the Russian Federation investigation ― bolstering long-held fears that the special counsel's ultimate findings may never see the light of day. For one, Mueller interviewed with Trump for the job of Federal Bureau of Investigation director and was unsuccessful in getting it, so he may probably be resentful of the president.

Sources said the tone prompted Trump allies to believe that any interview will be more limited in scope than the president's legal team initially believed.

Gulf Coast prepares for Gordon's expected arrival as hurricane
Bernard parishes, primarily along the Industrial Canal and susceptible to high-tide conditions if not closed, the city said. Florence's maximum sustained winds are 70 miles per hour , and the storm is moving west-northwest at 13 miles per hour .

Peter Carr, a spokesman for the Special Counsel's office, declined to comment.

In an interview with the conservative Daily Caller, President Trump expounds upon his oft-stated theory that Robert Mueller has several conflicts of interest that should prevent him from investigating Trump's web of criminality and misconduct. That's an effort that could lead to a Supreme Court challenge by the White House.

In his letter, Mueller did not address whether he had ruled out the idea of subpoenaing Trump or might push for a voluntary interview on later.

"How can you possibly have a man who is that", Trump said of Mueller. Giuliani has said Trump does not recall asking Comey to drop an investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn and he does not want the president to be accused of lying about the episode.

The most important discrepancy relates to a meeting he had with Comey.
