Trump Steps Up Attacks Against FBI, Justice Department Over Russian Collusion Probe

Trump tried to convince GOP senators to turn on Sessions report

Though they once cautioned him that dismissing Sessions would feed special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation of Trump's potential obstruction of justice, these people say, Trump's legal team has become increasingly convinced Mueller will make that case regardless of whether the president fires Sessions or leaves him in place...

When speaking about his possible intervention in the Justice Department, Trump seemed to have in mind the other issue that irks him regarding Sessions' department: his alleged reluctance to investigate and punish Trump's political enemies.

Regent University Professor Sam S. Gaston, is Practitioner-in-Residence/Online in the Master of Public Administration Program said, "I think it would be very foolish of President Trump to fire Jeff Sessions".

According to Newsweek, over the course of the past week, Trump has continued to vent his fury over the fact that Jeff Sessions chose to excuse himself from the 2017 investigation.

"Our Justice Department and our Federal Bureau of Investigation have to start doing their job, doing it right and doing it well", Trump said Thursday evening.

Discussing his soon-to-depart White House Counsel, Donald McGahn, the president tweeted: "I liked Don, but he was NOT responsible for me not firing Bob Mueller or Jeff Sessions".

But despite Trump's unhappiness with Sessions, when asked if he would keep him employed past midterms, Bloomberg reports, Trump declined to answer.

French star Gerard Depardieu denies alleged sex assaults
Temime added that Depardieu is "shaken" by the allegations, which are against "everything he is and respects". In the meantime, Depardieu and his legal team have released a statement denying the accusations against him.

Two of Donald Trump's fiercest Republican critics have suddenly taking a liking to the president - and with it, come around to his views on Russian Federation.

The poll also comes in the wake of last week's guilty verdicts in the trial of Trump's former campaign chairman Paul Manafort on various tax and banking charges and a plea deal with the President's former personal attorney and fixer, Michael Cohen, who admitted to several campaign finance violations and implicated Trump in a hush money scheme to silence women alleging affairs with the former businessman.

Sessions then fired back at the president, saying that the DOJ would not be "improperly influenced by political considerations".

His successor, Democratic Attorney General Barbara Underwood, filed the lawsuit in June, claiming the Trump Foundation "was little more than a checkbook for payments from Mr. Trump or his businesses to nonprofits, regardless of their goal or legality".

Trump has tried to no avail to pressure Sessions to quit, which would open the way to appointing a successor who could oust Mueller or rein in his inquiry. I'm not asking for him to be fired.

Regarding firing Sessions, Graham said, "They'd do it before, but they're anxious about the effect it would have on the midterms themselves. I view it as an illegal investigation" because "great scholars" have said that "there never should have been a special counsel".
