Google's Reveals New Wear OS With Focus on Fitness and Assistant

Wear OS gets a redesign with a focus on health coaching and proactive information

Most are of the opinion that with Wear OS 2.0 many new things may have been introduced, but some things need attention to detail.

Google's Director of Product Management, Wear OS by Google Dennis Troper announced today some updates that will be rolling out to Wear OS, Google's operating system for smartwatches.

For those of you wondering, we're not sure which version of Wear OS will bring forth the redesign.

These updates mean that current interactions will have to change.

The Google Fit component of the Wear OS will enable users to access their fitness stats by swiping once to see progress on cardio and movement activity.

The design change comes as Google tries to drag the Watch OS back from near extinction, covering as it does, a tiny fraction of the market. The Google Assistant will also suggest features you may not have tried yet and will become more helpful over time as it gets to know you and as we add new features. For example, you are now able to view multiple alerts at the same time courtasy of a new notification stream. Meanwhile, swiping right will get you to a new Google Assistant-powered feed that presents you with daily information, similar to how the Overview feature works on Android and iOS.
