Trump questions 3-D gun sales as U.S. states sue

A Liberator pistol appears next to the 3D printer on which its components were made in Hanover Maryland

A U.S. judge has blocked the planned release of 3-D printed gun blueprints hours before they were set to hit the internet.

A federal judge has issued a temporary restraining order to block the online publication of 3D-printed gun blueprints.

Along with Washington state, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Oregon, Maryland and the District of Columbia are working on finalizing the lawsuit and plan on filing it later on Monday, Ferguson said. "Already spoke to NRA, doesn't seem to make much sense!" the President tweeted Tuesday, without offering further details about what he'll do about the weapons.

Senators added their voices later in the day, urging the president to reverse the settlement decision. "The administration supports this almost two-decade-old law, and will continue to look at all options available to us to do what is necessary to protect Americans while also supporting the First and Second Amendments".

Trump: the issue 'doesn't seem to make much sense!'

The settlement, which took gun-control advocates by surprise, allowed Defense Distributed to resume posting blueprints for the hard plastic guns at the end of July.

Lawmakers say that the 3D printable guns are unsafe because they are unregistered and can be undetectable by metal detectors because they are made from plastic.

Defense Distributed's website said it would publish the files on Wednesday but blueprints for seven guns already were available for download.

How to Get a Free Big Mac at McDonald’s
Other ideas from franchisees that hit the big time include the Filet-O-Fish, Egg McMuffin, Apple Pie, and the Shamrock Shake. Fast food fans around the world can get their hands on the coins with a Big Mac purchase starting August 2.

Shapiro says he, Gov. Tom Wolf and the Pennsylvania State Police sued the company before its formal rollout of a downloadable gun program Wednesday.

"Americans have the right to this data", he told the Inquirer and Daily News in a Sunday night interview.

The election-year headache is a problem of the administration's own making.

What just happened? Following a lengthy legal battle, the State Department last month settled a case over computer files that enabled the 3D-printing of firearms, paving the way for people to own and distribute the model blueprints legally. In 2013, a gun rights enthusiast and self-described anarchist named Cody Wilson posted online the designs for a 3-D-printed functional plastic handgun.

The gun plans were pulled from the internet in 2013 by order of the U.S. State Department under worldwide gun trafficking laws.

Cox noted that the association helped craft legislation passed in 1988 that made it illegal to "manufacture, import, sell, ship, deliver, possess, transfer, or receive an undetectable firearm". "It has also remained illegal for prohibited persons to build firearms with 3D printers or by any other means as well".

"I've had people ask me if I can make something like that for them", she said. But industry experts have expressed doubts that criminals would go to the trouble, since the printers needed to make the guns can cost thousands of dollars, the guns themselves tend to disintegrate quickly and traditional firearms are easy to come by.
