Five ins and outs Newcastle United could complete this week

Yoshinori Muto of Japan goes past Kamil Glik of Poland during the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia group H match between Japan and Poland at Volgograd Arena

It is likely to be a case of one in and one out this week at Newcastle in regards to strikers, as BBC Sport reports that the Magpies have agreed a deal to bring Japan global forward Yoshinori Muto in from Mainz.

Barring any issues with regards to a work permit, it's expected that the Magpies will officially announce Muto soon - and also confirm the departure of goalkeeper Matz Sels, who will reportedly move to Strasbourg in France's Ligue 1. The transfer fee is reported to be £9.5 million (about $12.5 million).

But with Muto not a regular in recent Japan line-ups, it will be down to England's governing Football Association to decide if he is cleared to play for northeast side Newcastle.

Muto was born just outside Tokyo, before moving to Mainz in 2015, his first club outside of Japan. He has scored 20 goals in 66 games for Mainz.

Having made just one appearance at the World Cup in Russian Federation where Japan made a round-of-16 exit, Muto said he hopes to be a key player at the tournament in four years' time.

Newcastle United look set to be without defender Florian Lejeune for a prolonged period of time, with the French centre-half rupturing his cruciate ligaments in Saturday's 0-0 pre-season friendly draw with Porto.

"I'm happy to the moon and back", said Mitrovic, who scored for Serbia at the World Cup earlier this summer.
