George Clooney involved in scooter accident in Italy

George Clooney has been taken to the hospital by ambulance after his scooter crashed into a auto.

It happened Tuesday morning in Sardinia.

According to the site, George was said to be hit by a vehicle which suddenly changed direction at a spot close to a hotel.

The actor was reportedly taken to the emergency room of the John Paul II (Giovanni Paolo II) hospital, which is in Olbia, Sardinia. George was taken to a local hospital, assessed, given an MRI, and having not suffered any serious injuries or broken bones, was released less than two hours later.

Clooney is a Northern Kentucky native.

The image showed slight damage to the actor's bike and smashed glass to the left of the Mercedes car's windscreen.

George might be the last person you want to hit with your vehicle. The car's driver assisted George after the crash and reportedly called an ambulance, according to NBC.

His rep confirmed the accident to "Extra", saying, "George was treated and released from an Olbia hospital".

Immediately after the crash, Clooney was transported to a nearby hospital. "It turns out he had a scooter accident with only minor injuries", while another added: "George Clooney should not be tampered with 2018!"

Clooney is staying on the Italian island to film a Hulu mini-series based on the classic Joseph Heller novel Catch-22.

Production on George Clooney's "Catch-22" is continuing as planned following his frightening scooter accident in Italy.
