After North Korea talks disappoint, Trump points finger at Beijing

The motorcade carrying U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo drives towards Kumsusan Palace of the Sun in Pyongyang North Korea Friday

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo speaks at a Business Community Reception at the Metropole Hotel in Hanoi, Vietnam, July 8, 2018.

The countries did agree this weekend to set up a working group to iron out further disagreements and to meet Thursday to discuss recovering the remains of U.S. military personnel killed during the Korean War. USA news accounts in recent days have shown pictures of what is said to be the expansion of nuclear-related buildings in North Korea. The money extorted this way can amount to hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars paid directly to the Korean People's Army.

"These are complicated issues but we made progress on nearly all of the central issues", he told reporters on Saturday on the airport tarmac before leaving Pyongyang, following his third visit to North Korea. Moreover, there are rumors that the site under discussion is an obsolete one used for liquid-propellant engines while the North has moved on to advanced solid-propellant engines. "They didn't give it". It also runs the risk of settling for less at the bargaining table than originally sought. The censure was a stark contrast to the Pompeo's description of the talks as "productive".

Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, meanwhile, accused China of using its influence over the North to sabotage the diplomatic process because of its trade war with the United States. However, he left with a harsh reminder that the North Korean leader expects something in return.

South Korean newspaper Chosun Ilbo reported last week that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo brought two gifts when he met with North Korean officials in Pyongyang: a letter to Kim from Trump, and an Elton John CD with the song "Rocket Man" signed by Trump.

On Sunday, Iowa GOP Senator Joni Ernst said the US should restart its military exercises with South Korea if talks don't continue.

Pompeo said the United Nations has signed off on the best way to achieve denuclearization, and that means no relief of economic sanctions on North Korea until there is full verifiable evidence the North is willing to get rid of its nuclear weapons.

Statue of Liberty Climber Speaks Out Against Trump Immigration Policy
Cruise operator Statue Cruises said it had to turn away more than 2,000 visitors waiting to take their tour to the famed statue. Park Police for their courtesy and professionalism, but said the government's "draconian policy" on immigration had to end.

Pompeo's trip, his third in this year, apparently did not go well. We sell them $100 billion, they sell is $500 billion, we can hurt them more than they will hurt us.

For example, the smart play now would be to call in favors with Beijing for having logged three trips to Pyongyang. There will never be a friendly solution to the North Korea problem if this continues to happen!

"However, the attitude and stance the United States showed in the first high-level meeting [between the countries] was no doubt regrettable", the spokesperson added.

Russian President Vladimir Putin in May invited Kim to the annual forum, Yonhap said, but he had not responded to the invitation yet.

On her government's decision to suspend major combined military drills with the USA, she said it's aimed at facilitating the denuclearization process.

The UN special rapporteur on human rights in North Korea on Tuesday called on the South Korean government to conduct a thorough and independent investigation into the defection of North Korean restaurant workers in 2016, saying some of the workers were "victims" of a scam. It said the US side had shown little interest, giving "certain conditions and excuses".
