Giuliani: No Cohen Concerns 'As Long As He Tells The Truth'

Rudy Giuliani Donald Trump and Robert Mueller

Lanny Davis, the new attorney representing Michael Cohen as he faces a federal criminal investigation in NY, is coming out swinging against Cohen's former client President Donald Trump and his lawyer Rudy Giuliani. When pressed, Guiliani maintained there was no wrongdoing by the president, and that the truth could therefore not harm him. "We have no reason to believe he did anything wrong", Giuliani said on ABC's "This Week".

The special counsel investigation was established by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to handle the FBI's Russian Federation investigation, which began in 2016, after Mr. Trump fired FBI Director James Comey in May 2017. "He has no evidence of, nor was he involved in anything untoward with the President".

Lawyers for Mr. Trump had been eyeing early July as a possible time for an interview with the special counsel, likely at Camp David or the White House and lasting for about 2½ hours.

Giuliani also repeated previous assertions that the Mueller investigation is biased.

While he wouldn't tell Stephanopoulos if he would cooperate with prosecutors, he also didn't dampen such speculation, taking issue with some of Trump's criticisms of the special counsel's Russian Federation investigation and even going out of his way to praise the FBI.

Following reports last week that Giuliani said he wants the special counsel Robert Mueller to show a "factual basis" before Trump agrees to testify under oath, Giuliani upheld his suspicion of the investigation's roots.

Samsung expects second-quarter profits to miss analysts estimates
Moreover, a Chinese rumor claims that Samsung SDI is already manufacturing the batteries for the Galaxy X model. The device will employ foldable display panels, which is expected to go into mass production this summer.

Giuliani said, "If the president says, 'I fired him for the good of the United States, '" it was justification enough. "One day I will answer", he said.

Giuliani reiterated in a text to CNN Monday morning, "the truth will set you free". Mr. Strzok was reassigned from his post last summer after Mr. Mueller learned about the messages.

On ABC's "This Week" on Sunday, Giuliani stressed that he wasn't anxious about testimony that Cohen might give. "This is the most corrupt investigation I have ever seen that the Justice Department is allowing to go forward". Who has said the Federal Bureau of Investigation is a corrupt institution?

Lawyers for Comey declined to comment Saturday, as did Peter Carr, a spokesman for Mueller.

Giuliani also said he had "zero" concern that Michael Cohen, a former Trump attorney who represented him for a decade while he was a NY real estate mogul and into the first year of his presidency, might provide prosecutors damaging information about Trump. Comey has said he told Trump about the dossier allegations because they were widely known in Washington, including by the media, and that he kept his memos because he was concerned that Trump might lie about their conversations.
