Lydia Ko surges into contention with strong second round at KPMG

With the win, she took home total prize money of $547,500.

Park Sung-hyun won the KPMG Women's PGA Championship on Sunday, defeating Ryu So-yeon in a tense playoff at Kemper Lakes Golf Club in IL.

Park moves to No. 2 in the world while Ryu moved up a spot to No. 4. She bogeyed Nos. 14 and 16 in a 70.

Angel Yin (68) was fourth at 6-under and Bronte Law (69) was 5-under.

Maude-Aimee Leblanc of Sherbrooke, Que., had the next best finish among Canadians at 1-over 289. Ryu and Henderson were paired together and shared the 36-hole lead with Sung Hyun Park.

But Ryu bounced back with consecutive birdies of her own at the sixth and seventh, which took her back to 11-under, two up on Park. But she actually started to sense things turning when she buried a 15-foot birdie putt on 11 and an 8-footer for par on the par-3 13th.

After watching the play unfold, Ryu calmly drained her lengthy birdie putt to reach 12-under par.

Hataoka was completely off the radar when the round started with a 54-hole score of two under par. "I had trouble with my putts, and I couldn't pick up the momentum. That was a really big birdie".

"I feel like all parts of my game are pretty strong this week".

"I was really playing like myself".

Dallas Mavericks Working On DeAndre Jordan Trade
Marc Stein of the New York Times reported Dallas was making him their top priority after he declined his option with the Clippers. Now three years later, Jordan may once again be on track to join famous owner Mark Cuban in Dallas.

"To be honest, I got less nervous during the playoff", she said. "And hopefully, they roll in".

"Knowing that I've played so well here before and I've been able to hoist that trophy that will probably be looking at us on the first tee tomorrow, it's a great feeling", said Henderson. Instead she had to settle for another top-ten.

Park had three career wins on the LPGA Tour coming into this weekend, including the U.S. Women's Open a year ago. Adding the Women's PGA would be quite the way to cap her birthday week after she turned 28 on Friday.

"I had to let it go", she said. But now, she has a chance win another major to go with the 2015 Evian Championship and 2016 ANA Inspiration.

No. 16 to win her second major championship, the soft-spoken, stiff-upper-lip Park let the -emotions out.

2018: Kemper Lakes Golf Club, Chicago 2019: Hazeltine National Golf Club, Chaska, Minn.

After rain soaked the course earlier in the week, the final three days were marked by temperatures in the 90s. Brooke Henderson told Michael Collins after her round. Park put herself in a bad position by almost hitting her ball in the water next to the green. She stumbled in with a 74 on Sunday to share 6th place and miss a three-way playoff by four shots. Hull has been a birdie machine this year as she ranks third on Tour in the category.

"How hard was it?" I'm wearing a skirt.

Lexi Thompson, Danielle Kang and Michelle Wie, who would have made a nice final trio for television, never did get going.
