Egypt FA deny Salah unhappiness at Chechnya publicity

Mo Salah The Egyptian King in Liverpool

Not too long ago, Egypt's Mohamed Salah was tipped to become the breakout star of the 2018 World Cup.

The CNN report states that: "Salah feels exposed by what has happened in Chechnya".

But one account couldn't resist a dig...

Egypt finished bottom of Group A and failed to pick up a point, losing against Uruguay, Russia and Saudi Arabia.

A source with knowledge of Salah's position on the matter has confirmed this to be correct to ESPN FC, adding that the player is now considering his worldwide future.

Salah missed Egypt's opening 1-0 loss to Uruguay due to a shoulder injury but played in the 3-1 defeat by Russian Federation last week, scoring the Pharaohs' only goal from a second-half penalty.

On Friday, June 22 Kadyrov made Salah an honorary citizen of the Chechen Republic, during a banquet held to say goodbye to the Egypt squad.

Trump threatens 20% tariffs on all European cars coming into US
Automotive News data shows about 7.2 percent of vehicles sold in the United States through May were assembled in Europe. The European Union, Canada, Mexico, and India are outraged and have retaliated by imposing tariffs on US goods.

With his team crashing out of the World Cup with two defeats in two games, news emerged that Salah was granted honorary citizenship of Chechnya by controversial strongman Ramzan Kadyrov. "That's right! Tonight I signed a decree to grant this high title to the great footballer of Egypt andLiverpool", Kadyrov wrote in a statement on the Vkontakte social media network.

Salah was also used by Kadyrov ahead of Egypt's first match, with the Chechen leader luring Salah out of his hotel to a training session he was slated to miss for a photo opportunity.

Salah's relationship with the EFA was strained leading up to the tournament with a sponsorship row taking focus away from preparations while he is reportedly disappointed at how he has been used for political gain by administrators.

Salah's agent, Ramy Abbas, tweeted on Saturday: "When it was once said that a picture speaks a thousand words, apparently not". I didn't invite Mo Salah or the Egyptian team.

CNN first reported on Sunday that the Liverpool forward was deciding whether to return to the Egypt team after the World Cup.

"No we did not receive anything from Liverpool".

He is a player who really wanted to play at this World Cup but unfortunately he arrived with an injury.
