Star Wars Story spin-offs on hold

Star Wars Solo flop puts Obi Wan film on hold

There is still plenty of big-screen Star Wars on the way, including the aforementioned trilogy from Rian Johnson as well as a series of films being developed by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

Personally, I'd much rather have brand new stories with brand new characters, and if Lucasfilm is rethinking "Star Wars Story" movies, that could be exactly why, especially judging by the information that they are focusing on those brand new stories.

No more Solo-s? Lucasfilm reportedly sets aside the Star Wars Story films to focus on trilogy work. Only the second Star Wars spinoff film, Solo has had a very tough time at the box office, making $341.9 million worldwide in its first four weeks. Now we have reports from Collider that Lucasfilm is going to hold off on pumping out another A Star Wars Story film.

While Disney never confirmed plans for an Obi-Wan or Boba Fett movie, it was rumored "Logan" director was developing a film on the mysterious bounty hunter.

"This has just begun", says Argentina after Iceland draw
Not having prepared for the match knowing that Iceland are all 1.90m tall", the 1986 World Cup victor told Venezuelan television. In his column for TOI, Ardiles wrote, "We were bad, to be honest". "He has to take care of them most of the time".

The spinoff had a disappointing three-day opening weekend total of $84.4 million, and suffered a 65 percent plummet in box office the following weekend, according to Box Office Mojo.

Following the disaster known as Han Solo, it's rumored the first fallout comes in the form of any additional Star Wars spinoffs being placed on hold. Solo arrived six months after The Last Jedi, and Lucasfilm needs to keep Star Wars movies feeling like can't-miss events. It also was in competition with two blockbusters - "Averngers: Infinity War" and "Deadpool 2".

As for the Boba Fett spin-off, the Collider report says it may not even be past the "early talks" stage since the news broke just "before Solo's release". And between Star Wars Rebels and the official Star Wars comic, we've already filled some gaps in Obi-Wan's timeline, like what he did after watching over Luke Skywalker on Tatooine.
