Jared Leto’s Joker Is Getting His Own Movie

WB Developing Spin Off Movie for Jared Leto's Joker

After the movie came out, Leto spoke extensively about how many of his Joker scenes were cut from the film.

Aside from this Joker movie, it was previously announced that Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn was getting her own spin-off, which now appears to have been amalgamated with the Birds of Prey movie, set to be directed by Cathy Yan. Now, Variety is reporting a completely different Joker movie is in the works, starring Suicide Squad's Joker, Jared Leto, which presumably will take place entirely in continuity.

The outlet, who spoke with sources, reports: "[The film will pave] the way for future movies branching from "Suicide Squad.

Similarly, it emerged last August that Warner Bros is also developing a Joker origin story without Leto. Leto and the studio are searching for a writer, and its now unclear if the Joker movie would go into production before Suicide Squad 2.

Israel's diplomacy with Iran sinks to ‘Mean Girls’ GIFs on Twitter
They are seeking to ring-fence trade with Iran against new US financial sanctions to dissuade Tehran from quitting the deal. Salehi said the Iranian government submitted a letter to the IAEA on Monday about the "start of certain activities".

It must be noted that we've reported extensively on the creative process over at Warner Bros. when it comes to their DC movies, and- in a nut shell- it's likely this Joker movie is merely an idea that's in development.

Plot details are now unknown, but the studio's idea is to expand on the world created by "Suicide Squad" and tie into future installments of that property.

However, the studio emphasized that this did not mean the end for Jared's version as this film will fall under a new banner separate from the current cinematic DC universe. Leto's "Suicide Squad" incarnation was more cruel and self-assured, sporting slicked-back hair, face tattoos, and silver-capped fangs. We already know, for example, that Leto is set to reprise his role in the sequel to Suicide Squad, set to begin filming in 2019.
