Ali Akbar Salehi, director of Iran's atomic program and a vice president, also confirmed that his country had started working on advanced centrifuges at its Natanz facility.

The German Chancellor met Mr Netanyahu on Monday to discuss, among other issues, the importance of the Iran nuclear deal as she tried to convince the Israeli leader to reconsider his opposition to it.

"We will continue our support to oppressed nations. our enemies have staged economic and psychological warfare against us and new American sanctions are part of it", Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said in a speech broadcast live on state TV.

Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif has previously called for "practical strides" to "increase [EU] investments in Iran", if Europe wants to save the nuclear deal that was thrown into doubt when U.S. President Donald Trump withdrew his support in early May.

The remaining partners - Britain, China, France, Germany and Russian Federation - have scrambled to save the 2015 accord as the USA readies to reimpose sanctions on Tehran.

Salehi said the Iranian government submitted a letter to the IAEA on Monday about the "start of certain activities".

They are seeking to ring-fence trade with Iran against new US financial sanctions to dissuade Tehran from quitting the deal. The majority of the board's members are likely to issue statements through the week challenging the U.S. decision to withdraw, and the repeated Israeli intelligence claim that Iran is secretly preparing a nuclear bomb.

The vote brought an end to a 12-year investigation into the "past and present issues" regarding Iran's nuclear activities, which the United Nations nuclear watchdog had been probing under pressure from the Israeli regime, the USA and their allies.

"This will inflame another religious war, this time a religious war inside Syria, and the consequences would be many, many more refugees, and you know exactly where they will come", he said.

Neymar to return from injury against Croatia
Brazil coach Tite said Neymar's return was "above the expected standard". It was only through Neymar's introduction that this was addressed.

"Two days ago, Ayatollah Khamenei, Iran's supreme leader, stated his intention to destroy the State of Israel", Netanyahu said in a video posted on social media.

The Iran deal paved the way for the partial lifting of global sanctions against the country, in exchange for Tehran curbing its nuclear programme for a number of years.

The European states have been trying to come up with a package to ring-fence trade with Iran against renewed USA financial sanctions to dissuade Tehran from quitting the accord.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the tweet "quite extraordinary" while the Israeli Embassy in the US had a different response.

This is while Iran is now in talks with the other signatories on the future of the deal.

"Iran is trying to conquer the Middle East".

Europeans and Israel were, she said, "united by the goal that Iran must never get a nuclear weapon".

The two countries have been sparring online after a purported Israeli missile strike that killed several Iranian troops in Syria in April.

She added: "We believe that this is very important for the transparency of the process".
