French Open 2018: Serena Williams 'has no negative feelings' towards Maria Sharapova

39;I feel like a warrior'- Serena Williams makes a stunning comeback

They are Nos 1-2 among active women in career clay-court titles: Williams has 13, Sharapova 11.

"I have never physically cringed as hard as when I read this in Serena's transcript", said one Tennis writer. What they say and do draws attention, whether it's Williams attending the British royal wedding or Sharapova holding a practice session with Rafael Nadal.

If I can get Serena at a low price or even plus money, I'm taking it.

The most-anticipated matchup for a quarterfinal spot at Roland Garros pits 23-time major champion Williams against five-time major champion Sharapova.

The match is a repeat of Nadal's straight-sets victory at the same third-round stage the last time they met in Paris back in 2005. That was Sharapova's final appearance before her 15-month doping ban.

´I have never had a good practice, I don´t think, ever in my life.

Perhaps, but Sharapova has lost 18 times in a row to Williams. "It's just a big relief to go out there and you know play a little more consistent". I think if anything, it shows the passion and the desire and, you know, the will that you have to want to go out there and do the best.

"Quite frankly, she's probably a favorite in this match, for sure", Williams said with a chuckle.

"You know, I was, like, "Oh, OK". I'm playing tougher opponents and I'm hanging in there", said Williams, whose trophy collection includes three Suzanne Lenglen Cups. "I'm just going to go out there and enjoy myself". I think this is just one of her best surfaces, and she always does really, really well here.

But even the American 23-times Grand Slam champion, back after having her first child in September, must have been bewildered when a U.S. reporter tried to throw a new light on her fierce rivalry with old foe Maria Sharapova, who she faces in the French Open last 16 on Monday.

Michael Rotondo, evicted NY son, moves out after Lego row
Instead of letting him in, his father offered to look for specific items and bring them out if he found them. On Friday, Rotondo stood outside the place he once called home but had some trouble before then.

Earlier on Saturday, Russian two-time victor Sharapova beat sixth seed Karolina Pliskova 6-2 6-1.

The Williamses dropped the first set and then trailed 5-4 in the second with Klepac and Martinez Sanchez serving for the match.

The match lasted just 59 minutes.

In another result, top seed Simona Halep continued her charge towards a third Roland-Garros final when she beat Andrea Petkovic of Germany 7-5, 6-0 on Court 18 and will next face No.16 seed Elise Mertens, who beat Daria Gavrilova 6-3, 6-1.

Williams, though, did not linger about to track the disfigured ball's final destination as that shot had sealed her the set. The two will square off in the round of 16 on Monday, their first meeting in roughly two-and-a-half years.

She won a second game on Goerges' serve, and finished the set off with an overhead smash that bounced up into the crowd.

The Spanish player will face Lesia Tsurenko after the Ukranian defeated 19th-seed Magdalena Rybarikova 6-2 6-4.

The 10th-seeded American beat Camila Giorgi of Italy 4-6, 6-1, 8-6.

Stephens, the US Open champion in 2017, next plays Anett Kontaveit, who advanced by beating two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova 7-6 (6), 7-6 (4). "I will look forward to doing that", Sharapova told reporters at the French Open following her ruthless 6-2, 6-1 victory over sixth-seeded Karolina Pliskova on Saturday.
