John Terry wants freakish clause in new Aston Villa contract

John Terry contract

John Terry is a fantastic player, so is James Chester.

Jokanovic, who took charge at Craven Cottage in December 2015, is not anxious about his team's relative inexperience as the west London club prepare for their first trip to Wembley since 1975, when they lost the FA Cup final 2-0 to West Ham.

For both clubs, there is a significance about restoring their role as a PL club, with Fulham last competing in the top flight four seasons ago and Villa two seasons removed.

Lacking a focal point in their team with Ireland striker Scott Hogan left on the bench, Villa's attempts to grind out a win against a more energetic and youthful Fulham side had come up horribly in what was a limp first half display from Steve Bruce's side.

It didn't affect Fulham's search for a second, though, and Cairney did brilliantly to find Mitrovic inside the box, but his volley took a slight clip off a Villa defender before going over the top in the 74th minute.

The former England captain chose to join Villa over several Premier League suitors last summer, in part because of his reluctance to face Chelsea, where he played for 19 seasons.

"Well, we'll not pick him against Chelsea if that's what he wants", the 57-year-old told reporters. "I don't know how you do all that and stand there, I couldn't do that for the life of me.' But my mum was a total one-off and my biggest supporter, and she was terrific".

Fulham boss ready to use ‘important weapon’ against Aston Villa

"Expectation is huge here but that's why I went for experience", Bruce told BBC WM.

"We have to have a healthy respect for Fulham but not be fearful of them", Bruce, 57, added.

The Whites narrowly missed out on automatic promotion, having risen from 12th to third in the table courtesy of a 23-match unbeaten run which ended with defeat on the final day at Birmingham.

"Slowly but surely we have tried to change it around". The first year we were fighting not to be relegated and in the second year we started to build the team.

'I really genuinely hope he triggers it. All of us can make mistakes and I expect some mistakes from his side.

"Now is not important who is favourite and who is not, we will see on the end".
