Battlefield V Won't Feature Paid DLCs Or Premium Passes

Battlefield V digital pre-orders open on Xbox One, to have 4K UHD, HDR10, & more

I'm hoping to see more proper gameplay later on at E3 though.

Battlefield 5 launches worldwide on the 19th of October.

However, fans that order the Battlefield V Deluxe Edition will get access three days early on October 16, while EA Access and Origin Access members will be able to jump into the Play First Trial on October 11. While the event lacked in terms of gameplay footage, we did get a decent amount of information. Before we talk about specifics, check out the reveal trailer for Battlefield 5.

The company explains that Battlefield 5 will be set in the lesser known regions during the second World War, including Rotterdam. Today, DICE gave some details about the co-op, campaign, multiplayer, and a few of the game's systems. One of them will be told from the perspective of a female Nowegian Resistance fighter, battling against the German occupation.

In addition to War Stories, Battlefield 5 will see both "new and classic" multiplayer modes.

The rivalry between Dice's Battlefield series and Activision's Call of Duty has been one of the most competitive in the gaming world ever and gamers seem to have enjoyed taking part in the fruit of this rivalry.

This time around it appears that Dice has put more emphasis on Operations, renaming it Grand Operations. Ski down Norwegian mountains as you battle for control of nuclear weapon supply lines, join the frontline with the French colonial troops, or go behind enemy lines in North Africa with a band of misfits sent to create mayhem.

A special Deluxe Edition of Battlefield V has also been announced and it, along with the regular version, are now available to pre-order digitally. It sounds like Combined Arms will also have you scrounging for resources as you make it to objectives, raising the stakes further as you need to decide if you can push through or extract early.

All of these multiplayer modes and features come together in Tides of War, EA and DICE's "new approach to live services". All of the game's major post-launch content - maps, modes, etc. - will be free for everybody in an effort to keep the community together. But as nostalgic as we are about World War 2, we wanted to challenge the preconception of the era with an unexpected portrayal of this familiar setting. The first chapter of Tides of War starts in November and will focus on the fall of Europe.
