France slams Iran over alleged rocket attack on Israeli positions

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov

JERUSALEM/BEIRUT-Israel said it attacked almost all of Iran's military infrastructure in Syria on Thursday, May 10, after Iranian forces fired rockets at Israeli-held territory for the first time.

Israel has blamed Iran for the rocket attacks, and hit back Thursday with deadly raids against what it said were Iranian targets in Syria.

Hezbollah has said, however, that it stands ready to defend Lebanon in case of any Israeli attack, and its leader has hinted it may retaliate for repeated Israeli airstrikes in Syria. Syrian air defences fired at two Israeli missiles, destroying both, Syrian state news agency SANA said.

Israel views Iran as its archenemy, citing Iran's calls for Israel's destruction, support for militant groups across the region and growing military activity in neighboring Syria. The system was hit after Assad forces attempted to use it to fire missiles at Israeli jets.

"We hit. nearly all of the Iranian infrastructure in Syria", Lieberman said at the annual Herzliya security conference near Tel Aviv. The Iranians fighting in Syria fall under a more hardline command.

Opposition fighters and their families left Babila, Beit Sahem and Yalda, three southern suburbs that were held by rebels for years, Syrian state media and a war monitor said.

"The Zionist regime's repeated attacks on Syrian soil under self-proclaimed, baseless pretexts amount to a blatant violation of Syria's sovereignty and goes against all worldwide conventions", the Ministry's spokesman Bahram Qassemi said.

On Tuesday evening, an attack was carried out against Iranian missile depots at the Syrian army's Al-Kiswa base south of Damascus.

AT&T: Hiring Trump attorney Cohen was 'big mistake'
After law school, he joined AT&T as an attorney in 1993 and later ascended the ranks of the company's massive lobbying operations. Its contract with Cohen ended a year ago . "But that's factually accurate, and it ought to carry more weight in this situation".

Rouhani did not mention of Israel's strikes in Syria, or those against the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

Russia, where Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is now meeting with President Vladimir Putin, signaled that it would in no way hinder Israel in defending itself against Iranian aggression.

Four of the 20 rockets were on target, he added, but were then intercepted, while the rest fell short.

As such, with Israel reportedly eliminating most of Iran's military infrastructure in Syria in the airstrikes on Thursday, this could further strengthen Russia's concerns as it eliminates a potential future competitor in Syria.

Israel "views this Iranian attack very severely", Conricus told reporters.

Consider: As a result of Israel's intelligence discoveries, we now know that Iran responded to the exposure of its nuclear program by devising a strategy to both hide the program's extent and continue it under a combination of new open and covert projects. I delivered a clear message to the Assad regime, our action is directed against Iranian targets in Syria. The Iranians declare their intention to attack us.

For years, Iran's clerical regime has chanted "Death to Israel" and supported Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas on Israel's borders in Gaza and the West Bank, which the U.S. designates as terror organizations.

That attack killed 15 people, including eight Iranians, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said, though the commander said there were no casualties.
