North Korea changes its time zone to match South

Kim Jong-un and Moon Jae-in

National security adviser John Bolton, who was due to meet his South Korean counterpart Chung Eui-yong in Washington on Friday, called the Times report "utter nonsense".

"The president has not asked the Pentagon to provide options for reducing American forces stationed in South Korea".

The officials said, however, that a peace treaty between the two Koreas could diminish the need for the 23,500 USA soldiers now stationed on the peninsula, the newspaper said.

U.S. President Donald Trump strongly suggested Thursday (Korean time) that North Korea is ready to release its American "hostages" after a South Korean activist earlier claimed the three detainees had been moved from a labor camp to a hotel.

Preparations for the Trump-Kim meeting have gathered further momentum since the Korean summit.

It wasn't immediately clear when the location or date would be publicly revealed.

Apple, Huawei and Xiaomi gain while global smartphone market declines
ZTE continues to face tough competition in high growth markets, which led to declining market share during the quarter. HMD Global (Nokia), iTEL, Xiaomi , Tecno, OnePlus and Huawei were the brands that grew the fastest in Q1 2018.

But for Trump to contemplate withdrawing troops now would be a quixotic move as he enters into negotiations with Kim whose demands and intentions are uncertain.

The closure will see experts from South Korea and the United States. "I think you're going to be seeing very, very good things".

South Korean President Moon Jae-in and Kim agreed in a summit last week to work toward a peace treaty by the end of the year and to seek the "complete denuclearization" of the peninsula.

"China is willing to work together with the South and North Korean sides as well as with the global community and to play a relevant positive role in promoting the process of political settlement and ultimately in achieving lasting peace in the region", the president said.

Trump also said that he was not considering reducing the USA military's presence in South Korea as part of the negotiations.

Plans for a Trump-Kim summit follow months of tense saber-rattling over Pyongyang's testing of atomic weapons and long-range missiles, including some theoretically capable of reaching the American mainland.
