Lieu: House Intel's Russian Federation investigation a 'big waste of time'

Natalia Veselnitskaya the Kremlin-linked lawyer who met with Donald Trump Jr. at Trump Tower in 2016 changed her story to say she was an informant to Moscow

The committee also did not agree with assessments that Russian President Vladimir Putin preferred Trump to Hillary Clinton. But the report was very powerful, very strong.

It also accused former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper of having "provided inconsistent testimony to the Committee about his contacts with media", specifically pointing to inconsistencies in Clapper's testimonies regarding whether he discussed the controversial dossier with reporters.

"On the other hand, the president was thrilled with the report, tweeting "'no evidence" that the Trump Campaign "colluded, coordinated or conspired with Russian Federation"'.

The investigation found that Russia's "increasingly aggressive cyber operations" would "continue to present a profound threat".

The report faults intelligence officials during the Obama administration for not telling the Trump campaign that some of its members were "potential counterintelligence concerns".

The report caps an investigation that began with the promise of bipartisanship but quickly transformed into an acrimonious battle between Democrats and Republicans over Russia's meddling in the 2016 election and whether there were any connections with the Trump campaign.

The House panel did find that Russian Federation sought to sow discord in the USA through cyberattacks and social media.

Keep an eye out, fellow gamers, because it looks like this soon-to-be rookie will be spending his time hunting you down. He instead spent his freshman year playing at California's Reedley Community College, before going to Wyoming in 2015.

The House panel final report, which Republicans said was based on interviews with 73 witnesses and a review of over 300,000 documents, came out with little surprise since Republicans on the committee in March issued a one-page summary of their findings making clear that no evidence of collusion had been found during the investigation.

The House Intelligence Committee announced the end of its work on the report on March 12, and was ready to release it, but the document was then studied by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and CIA for about a month, which resulted in heavy redactions.

The ultimate findings will be unearthed in another report, Rep. Schiff said Friday.

But.maybe now the House Intel Committee can launch an investigation into that!

The former chair of the Trump campaign has also been indicted as well as his deputy.

The episode drew questions about whether Nunes was coordinating with the White House and ultimately led to his recusing from the probe amid an ethics investigation into whether he mishandled classified information. Some portions of the public report are redacted for national security reasons. Nunes was eventually cleared of wrongdoing, but never formally rejoined the House investigation.

Additionally, the committee recommended the executive branch "crack down" on leaks by conducting polygraphs of certain employees with top secret clearances.
