Dallas Police Officers Wounded In Shooting Outside Store, Suspect Arrested

The person of interest, identified as 29-year-old Armando Juarez, was taken into custody after a police chase ended off Lemmon Avenue near Dallas Love Field about 9 p.m. Tuesday, sources told WFAA.

The Dallas Police Department tweeted that tweeted that a Loss Prevention Officer was also shot in the incident. The condition of the civilian, a Home Depot employee, was unknown.

Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall addressed the media during a press conference asking for prayers for their officers.

Authorities began looking for the gunman after he fled in a white pickup, Hall had said.

The area is clogged Tuesday afternoon with police searching for a suspect possibly armed with a handgun.

The officer detained a suspect and requested additional cover officers to place the suspect under arrest.

According to a report in Heavy.com, Juarez's relative said he is now unemployed but he previously worked alongside his father as a bricklayer and a forklift operator.

"We need you right now, our hearts are very heavy", she said. She asked for continued prayers for their recovery.

No further details were immediately available.

State, local and federal law enforcement agencies responded to the scene.

Five Dallas officers were killed and seven others injured in July 2016 when a military veteran who had served in Afghanistan fired on them.

"Once again, it sobers us to realize what officers walk into day in and day out, how quickly they can become victims", Rawlings said.
