5 takeaways from Comey book, ABC interview

The FBI director, who until his firing last May led an investigation into possible ties between Russian Federation and the Trump campaign, acknowledged that it was "stunning" to think that Russian Federation could have damaging information about an American president. He says Trump lies constantly; he suggests that Trump is dangerously divisive; he explains how this president fails to adhere to values that are at the core of the country.

Mr Comey is now a crucial witness for Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into whether Mr Trump has tried to obstruct the Russian Federation probe. She asserted that Comey has "proven to be dishonest".

"He strikes me as a person of above average intelligence who's tracking conversations and knows what's going on". And then he said, 'Another reason you know it's not true is I'm a germaphobe.

During the hour-long ABC News broadcast, Comey was asked if Trump was attempting to obstruct justice when he told other officials to leave the room before the meeting about Flynn. It always struck me and still strikes me as unlikely, and I would've been able to say with high confidence about any other president I dealt with, but I can't.

"We wake up in the morning and see the president of the United States is accusing people of crimes without evidence and pronouncing them guilty and saying they should be in jail", he said.

Comey held a televised press briefing in July 2016 to announce the Department of Justice was not recommending charges against Clinton, and generated more controversy when he sent a letter to Capitol Hill saying the Federal Bureau of Investigation was reviewing more of her emails - a move Clinton and her allies say helped swing the election to Trump.

In a sense, Trump is falling into Comey's trap by helping him to sell his book - just as he previously did with Michael Wolff when he unloaded fire and fury on his book, "Fire and Fury".

Yet Comey is willing to crown Trump as a king for four years, to argue that an unfit president who won a minority of the popular vote in 2016 (and trailed his main opponent by nearly 3 million votes) should be allowed to remain in office until January 20, 2021.

And last week federal agents in NY raided the office and hotel room of Trump's longtime personal lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen, possibly in connection with secret hush payments he made to women claiming they had affairs with Trump.

Pence praises Peru's stand on Venezuelan crisis
The summit in Peru is a once-every-three-years meeting of leaders from across Latin America , the U.S. and Canada. As opposed to past looks at global summits, the vice president needed to dip to the crowded agenda on small note.

"I think it's possible".

Comey, who is promoting his new book A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership, out Tuesday, did not elaborate on his claim about Trump's treatment of women. Trump says it never happened. "My loyalty's supposed to be to the American people and to the institution", Mr Comey said.

"I never asked Comey for personal loyalty".

Comey also says he found out he was sacked from television reports. It's a matter on which he has been criticized by Trump, regarding the FBI's handling of the investigation.

He later added that a Trump impeachment would let the American people "off the hook", stressing that he believes the president doesn't represent American values.

"This is nothing more than a poorly executed PR stunt by Comey to desperately rehabilitate his tattered reputation and enrich his own bank account by peddling a book that belongs in the bargain bin of the fiction section", she said. One of those viewers may well have been President Trump.
