Trump negatively assessed the state of relations with Russian Federation

An image grab taken from a video released by the Douma City Coordination Committee shows unidentified volunteers spraying a man with water at a make-shift hospital following an alleged chemical attack on the rebel-held town of Douma

Trump's threat of retaliatory military action prompted a slew of Russian comments warning that USA strikes could trigger a direct military clash between them.

A senior Russian lawmaker says President Donald Trump's tweet warning of an imminent missile strike on Syria reflects a dangerously light-minded approach to a critical situation.

He also vowed that "smart" missiles "will be coming".

Since coming to office Trump has thumbed his nose at domestic opposition, brushed aside Moscow's actions in the United States, Ukraine and Syria and embraced tighter relations with the Kremlin. "Get ready Russian Federation, because they will be coming", adding his disapproval of Moscow's support of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Trump had tweeted earlier that Russian Federation shouldn't be allied with a "Gas Killing Animal", a reference to Syrian President Bashar Assad, whose regime is accused of killing dozens of people in a suspected chemical attack on rebel-held Douma over the weekend.

"We are aware that the USA carrier battle group led by the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman and escorting ships are heading to the Persian Gulf and are scheduled to arrive in about early May", he said.

However, in the wake of last week's alleged chemical weapons attack by the Assad regime, Trump appears ready to intensify USA involvement in the region.

Donald Trump to skip South America summit, will send Mike Pence
Ambassador Roger Noriega said Rubio will be careful not to overstep Pence, but he said his role could be more significant. The U.S.is working to coordinate Latin American countries on a pressure campaign against Venezuela's government.

After Trump's tweet, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a British-based war monitor, said pro-government forces were emptying main airports and military air bases.

"None of them has any confirmation of what the World Health Organization official said", Poznikhir stated, inviting WHO experts to tour the region under security provided by the Russian military.

Russian Federation doesn't have the financial capability to retaliate to a military intervention in Syria by the US.

Alexander Zasypkin, Moscow's ambassador to Lebanon, warned that the federation's military will shoot down missiles and "even the sources that launched them".

"Upon an initiative of the Israeli side, a telephone conversation took place between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu", Sputnik, a Russian government-owned news agency, reported Wednesday, quoting the Kremlin. This will be caused by an unannounced air strike on Syria using stealth bombers.

Both Russia and Iran, Assad's other main ally, have warned his enemies against military action in recent days, underlining their commitment to the Syrian government they have armed and supported through years of conflict.

Syria's Russian-supplied air defences shot down an Israeli F-16 jet in February during a bombing run against what Israel described as Iranian-backed positions in Syria.
